About the event
On September 10th, 2016 Galaxy DCA will host a touch rugby event in the Nation's Capital Area where all sporting folks are welcome. This will also be one of the events on the USA Touch Nationals -East Coast Circuit.
An all inclusive event for boys and girls who will be competing on the same field for ages 5 and up. This is fun for the whole family, not to just watch their kids, but partake in the action too!
This year the tournament will be held at: Simpson Field, E Monroe Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301
While this is the first time we are listed as one of the events of the USA Touch Nationals Circuit, this isn't our first touch rugby tournament in the Nation's Capitol. With participation increasing every year, we expect this year to be the largest yet. Last year we had over 50 kids compete in the youth division alone, and some of their families decided to join in on the action and participate in the social division as well. With rugby being one of the fastest growing sports in our nation -mainly due to the cost effective nature of the sport, ethics and values it teaches, along with its all inclusive nature (men's and women's teams), Touch Rugby will be the sporting event that brings all of those things together all while addressing the ever increasing concern of safety for our youth and adults participating in contact sports.
