About the event

The Christmas Formal 2023 is an annual holiday gala celebrating the Christmas season and the best of culture in the DC area. 

This event has been held for the past two Decembers, and December 2nd, 2023 is going to be the best formal yet!

The Christmas Formal has hosted 230+ people both years, and is intended to be even bigger and better this winter. This year's gala will be hosted at the Marriott in Georgetown and will feature tons of great food, drinks, dancing, socializing, and celebrating Christmas with class. 

This year's gala will feature a specialty cocktail by Cirrus Vodka, a Richmond-based vodka company, and the evening will also feature The Christmas Formal crewneck sold the night of with sponsorship logos on the back. The highest level sponsors will also be able to table at the event, and the largest sponsors will be able to give a business pitch at the start of the formal. 

Permanent jewelry will also be sold at the event, as The Golden Bond is going to be a large sponsor for The Christmas Formal 2023. 

"The more the merrier" has become the tagline for this formal event, and I'm really looking forward to throwing this big gala again, for the 3rd year in a row!

Why should you sponsor?

This is a very well-attended event, and I'm aiming for 250-300 people this year. The last two years have hosted roughly 230 people. 

This event is also a great space to network and promote businesses, as many people are coming interested in meeting new people. I surveyed guests from the past two years' formals and their #1 reason (by a landslide, 70%) for coming to The Christmas Formal was for the potential of new connections made. 

I am also a female business owner and this is my largest-scale annual event. This party in 2021 was the launch party for my event planning business, Penderview Events, and started my business off on a very strong note. I hope to continue reaching for new "impossibles" with Penderview Events, and see that gaining the trust and traction of well-renowned sponsors would continue to confirm that I'm doing a great thing here.

Hello! My name is Anna and I'm a 30-something female business owner based in the Northern Virginia area. I attend the University of Virginia for both undergrad and graduate school, receiving degrees in Systems Engineering and Elementary Education, respectively. 

I'm an incredibly hard worker, diligent, communicative, kind, joyful, and love planning events. I love bringing people of all walks of life together, and my Christian faith is also a huge part of who I am and informs everything that I do.

I love exercising, eating well, Arbonne, my morning routine, and the blessings that have come with being an entrepreneur. I have lost 50 pounds since the end of COVID as well, and that alone speaks to the growth that I've done as a person over the years, my grit, and my mindset. 

I'm a powerful woman after God, and am inspired daily by my late grandfather, his life, and his legacy. I love my family deeply, practice gratitude daily, and love being in business!
