About the event
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx.
At our TEDxKULeuvenBrussels event, TEDx talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection at the Brussels campus of KU Leuven, at the grand auditorium.
The theme for our 2023 program is VOYAGE, which you can find on our designed logo.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote “Life is a journey, not a Destination.” We all need to be reminded sometimes to have a healthy balance between doing and being, between planning and letting go, between producing results and going through the required processes. Life’s challenges often push us to become impatient and run from one destination to another. When we take a step back and look at our own journeys, we put together seconds, minutes, years, and even decades. There is simply no reason to rush. From ancient Greek with Odyssee to modern times with The Alchemist, the focus lies on the journey, the experiences, and not the destination. VOYAGE

Harry LuWe here at TEDxKULeuvenBrussels strive to inspire and engage those in our community at the Brussels campus of KU Leuven. By hosting TEDx talks, workshops, and conferences, we have been able to empower students and young professionals to think outside the box, challenge pre existing notions, and provide a platform where stories and ideas can be shared and discussed. Over the last five years, we have had the opportunity to reach thousands of TEDx enthusiasts around the world with live streams and digital events.
On behalf of our great team and organization, I would like to briefly introduce myself. My name is Andrew Lu and I am a graduate student of the MBA program of KU Leuven. Having held the TED license and leading the organization the past 3 years, I have had the great pleasure to help push our organization's growth and better the experience every year for our audience and speakers. My focus as the lead has been to stimulate our student team and guide them to achieve our common TED goal of "ideas worth spreading".
