About our event
Live captivating poetically rap infused performances that are set to mirror the production style of a televised award show. Each performer will have stage design tailored to their individual 5 minute sets. We are bringing poets together from various cities along the east coast to come together and bridge the gap between rap and poetry! Our host, will walk onto stage to announce each performer as well as provide comedic commentary and keep the crowd engaged in between sets. A live band performance will kick off a fun and exciting intermission to bring the audience on their feet while they grab more drinks and converse.

Our goal is to bring back artistic value to our community (DMV; East Coast) at the local level to encourage youth and young adults to engage in positive sources of entertainment.
Reimagine a world much like the Harlem Renaissance era where black culture was full of art and sophistication!
Sponsoring our event will help fund an artistic event that'll help bring young adults safely together in hopes of keeping youth and adolescents away from violent altercations that stem from lack of entertainment, hobbies, and artistic inspiration.

Having being raised by my educator & history buff grandparents, I was immersed early on in the world of black art. I began dancing ballet, tap, & jazz in elementary school and by middle school I began writing poetry.
I was deeply inspired by the Alvin Ailey dance company and writers Tony Morrison and Alice Walker.
I also took an immense interest in the world of media with aspirations of writing sitcom scripts/producing live productions.
Into adulthood, I have been fortunate to figure out a way to combine all my passions of art together through curating poetry events that showcase spoken word poets, music artists, & painters.
Today and forever-more, I will represent art in all its progression and to honor it’s past.
