I am the Administrative Secretary for the youth football league, I am working hard to put together events that will benefit our community with knowledge and support. Proceeds from this event will go towards breast cancer awareness, and the time spent at this event will be used to inform participants and guests about the dangers of breast cancer and the benefits of early detection, self checking, and also mammograms. I recently lost my grandmother to breast cancer which could have been avoided (or at the very least her life prolonged) if it had been found prior to reaching Stage 4, unfortunately within our community we dont visit the Dr often out of fear or lack of resources and knowledge. I want to bring awareness to this and also help the foundations and reasearch that helped to make my grandmother comfortable and gain understanding and comfort during her battle with Breast Cancer.
