About the event
The Harper Family Reunion is a biennial event that transpires in the rotating Northern or Southern city of a host family branch of the descendants of our patriarch, Tom Harper. Our family traces our roots to Granpa Tom, born a slave in 1859 in the area now known as Hartwell, GA. Our last two reunions were held in Charlotte, NC in 2012 and Orlando, FL in 2014. Our upcoming reunion will be held in the Baltimore, MD/Washington, DC metropolitan area with key events to be held in both cities.
Some of our events like our welcome reception (currently scheduled for the Reginald F. Lewis Museum at Baltimore's Inner Harbor), Family Picture at the King Memorial Monument in DC, Family Activity Day and North-South Basketball game, Amusement park outing to Six Flags Over America, and our Family Banquet all feature opportunities for sponsors of various types and constituencies to support our efforts and get maximum exposure in return. Similarly, there are many other ways that sponsors may support our endeavor such as scholarships, gifts in-kind and even directly advertising in our professionally-produced commemorative reunion book!
We now have less than a year to finalize many of the details and still have many needs to fulfill to make this a great event. We are greatly in need of sponsor support to see that our family legacy of togetherness even during the toughest of times will continue.
