Chi-Town World Dance Congress (ChiWDC) is a 3-day celebration of the four most popular Afro-Latin partner dances: Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and Zouk. Sarah Zuccaro, a proud Chicago resident since 2014, is a seasoned dancer and educator with 30 years of experience spanning Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, American-style Ballroom, and the Afro-Latin partner dances. She has taught and performed at events across North America, Europe, and South America and has numerous finalist placements in social dance and performance competitions. Additionally, Sarah holds a B.S. in Dance Performance and Choreography from Eastern Michigan University as well as several teaching certifications.
In 2019, Sarah founded Urbanity Dance Chicago, a studio dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space where individuals from all backgrounds feel welcome and empowered to achieve their best in dance. Although Sarah has shifted her priorities towards building Chicago's local community, she is still a nationally sought-after instructor, coach, and choreographer.
Sarah's expertise extends beyond teaching—she has successfully managed Kizomba and Zouk rooms at major festivals, organized regular weekend dance events, and built a thriving dance community in Chicago. Her leadership and experience have helped Chi-Town World Dance Congress to succeed in it's early years and will be invaluable for the event's journey towards becoming one of the Midwest's top premier Afro-Latin dance events.
