  • About the event

    The West End’s favorite rum bar, Casta’s, and Union Market’s Latin American marketplace and community hub, La Cosecha, are partnering to present "Havana Nights at La Cosecha" – a late night party in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Casta’s will transform the 20,000 square foot space into a pop-up Latin nightclub with a unique blend of Latinx culture & community, dance performances, extravagant bottle service, multiple bars, and beats from The District’s top Latin DJs!

    The first event will be Saturday, September 30th from 10pm – 2am to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We have the option to make the event a monthly series if we acquire enough sponsorship funding to throw these events each month. Each event will have 500 to 1,000 attendees (100 VIP, 400+ GA), age ranges 21-45.

    A percentage of proceeds will be donated to benefit La Cosecha Foundation which supports the work of the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC). LEDC aids low-income Latinos by providing culturally sensitive economic services like small business support, housing counseling, and community engagement. LEDC's mission is to empower Latinos and underserved groups for financial independence and leadership.

    Why should you sponsor?

    This event is a celebration of culture and community. We're throwing this event in observance of Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) at La Cosecha, which is a local Latin American community marketplace that honors Latin American culture and is home to many Hispanic-owned small businesses.  A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the La Cosecha Foundation which supports the work of the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC). LEDC directly benefits Latino, low-income and under-resourced groups in DC. Additionally, our company, VERSUS, is a minority-owned small business. By becoming a sponsor for this event, you will be supporting Latino culture and communities, a local charity that helps under-resourced communities in the area, and multiple local, small, and minority-owned businesses.

    As a sponsor for this event, your organization would be positioning yourself as a broader partner with our company at large. Although Casta's Rum Bar is throwing this event in partnership with La Cosecha, our parent company, VERSUS Equity reaches far beyond traditional hospitality.

    Our hospitality venues, marketing agency, and activations team work together to make our events widely attended and highly successful. We have a best-in-class marketing agency in house, so our reach and impressions from our own social media platforms and ad campaigns across our 4 venues is over 1.4 million. Beyond our own platforms, we work with our media partner and local news/media channels to promote our events. Our last event series had over 25 million total media impressions including coverage from The Washington Post and The Washingtonian. We have millions of eyes on the events that we do – which means millions of eyes on potential sponsors at our events. The events themselves are attended by high-profile guests, local celebrities, and the general public. Our last event series had over 2,000 guests, and our previous events have had attendance from VIP guests like Jill Biden, Mayor Bowser, and Julia Fox.

    We'd love to work with you on this one-of-a-kind community event – and in the future to throw amazing experiences! Sponsorship funding for this event will go towards staffing, security, DJs, sound, infrastructure, and other operations costs.

    Here at VERSUS Equity, we keep ourselves relevant and adaptable to the ever-changing social environment by being at the forefront of hospitality, event planning, marketing, and innovation. We started off as solely a hospitality company with our 4 venues – Casta's Rum Bar, Morris American Bar, Ciel Social Club, and Heist Nightclub. Once COVID hit, we knew we had to adapt to the new normal, re-structure our approach to hospitality, and strategically expand our business model to sustain unexpected changes. That's when our 4 verticals were born – hospitality, activations, agency, and venture – and how we are able to sustain a successful, long-term business model. 

    Our approach to partnership is collaborative, uplifting, and team-oriented. Our successes are our partners successes and vice versa. We selectively choose partners with aligned missions and marketing goals – so when one of us wins, we both win. Through our business model and partnership structure, we've grown significantly as a company over the past few years and helped propel our partners to extraordinary heights.
