Bandera Film Fest,

About the event

This event is called Bandera Film Fest which is presented by the Trans Chicago program at The Puerto Rican Cultural Center. We are showcasing films involving LGBTQIA+ creators and actors, and we need sponsors to assist us in achieving our dream fest. We also plan on having panel discussions with actors, directors, producers, etc. to highlight the voices that are usually not heard by soceity. We are thinking of having workshops in between these film showings/panels, which include spoken word, 5 basics of Voguing, and a special affects make-up demonstration. 

Why should you sponsor?

Since we are a non-profit organization, we are seeking sponsors to make our efforts a reality. The purpose is to enhance visibility as well as strenghten a community that is often overlooked. We want to highlight the voices of anyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc. We want to unite people through the arts. 

Vincent Grey

My name is Vincent Grey, and I am a case manager at Trans Chicago Empowerment Center. As a queer Latinx transgender male, I have finally found my home with this organization in Humboldt Park. Even before I started working here, I was always so safe and welcome here, something that I never experienced before. I want this event to create that space for people like me that need somewhere without jugdment or fear of being themselves.
