About the event

The long awaited TEDxUniversityOfManchester is back with an exceptional lineup of speakers on Saturday 25.03.2016. Our theme this year is “Dare to Disrupt?”. Disruption is a vital catalyst for change - possessing the power to both innovate and destroy. The origin of this theme derives from the ability to challenge the norm and go beyond ordinary expectations through disruption, achieving extraordinary results and unprecedented change. Almost every innovation - disruptive or not - begins life as an idea, and an idea is just an idea until execution. So, do you Dare to Disrupt? 

Our one-day conference will be immersive and engaging, bringing a diverse roster of speakers from different disciplines, professions and educational backgrounds. We aim to attract bright individuals who have pioneered in their fields to come inspire, share and provoke conversations that matter from a wide range of subjects.

There is a wide interest in our organization as a result of Manchester being home to an excess of 85,000 students. We can provide you with the platform to strengthen your organisation’s brand and engage with bright, self-motivated and passionate students from The University of Manchester. In addition, we have an amazing list of speakers lined up from various different topics such as social entrepreneurship to music.

We are an all-volunteers and not-for-profit group with the aim to spread ideas and knowledge, thus supporting us fosters education for the wider community of students, not just in Manchester but also globally. 

TEDx UniversityOfManchester

TEDxUniversityOfManchester is an independently organized TED event where TED Talk video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussions and connections. It is run by a dedicated group of students in The University of Manchester operating under a TED license. In the spirit of TED and its mission "Ideas Worth Spreading", we organize yearly conference which offers interactive, immersive experiences for all participants. We aim to bring bright individuals who are pioneers in their fields to come and inspire, share and provoke conversations that matter from a wide range of subjects.  It presents a daylong multidisciplinary conference championing great ideas, bringing together engaging speakers, performers, participants and exhibitors.
