  • About the event

First celebrated in 1995, OUTFest is a weekend festival in Ann Arbor, Michigan celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer identities, community, and allyship. Friday, August 4 through Sunday, August 6 will bring entertainment, community, vendors, fun, and most  importantly, pride. The festival, hosted by the Jim Toy Community Center (JTCC), has been moved to August to expand an ever-growing festival, and to combine with the JTCC annual Pride Picnic.
All proceeds go to support the efforts of JTCC - a local area nonprofit resource center that  provides information, education, social events, and advocacy by and for the LGBTQ+ and ally community of Washtenaw County.

    Why should you sponsor?

OUTFest is the 2nd largest LGBTQ+ festival in Southeast Michigan. For over 20 years, OUTFest has brought thousands of people together in the Kerrytown district of Ann Arbor to celebrate community and serves as the largest fundraiser for the Jim Toy Community Center.

In 2016, we took over N 4th Ave in Kerrytown on Saturday, Wheeler Park on Sunday as well as several other venues for the festivities. We partnered with the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market, which celebrated it’s 97th birthday that weekend and closed additional streets as well which attracted even more people to the area. We also partnered with the Ann Arbor Convention & Visitors Bureau which promoted OUTFest to its newsletter and social media audience of over 160,000 people. We are hoping to make next year an even greater success!

There were an estimated 4,500 people who attended between the three days of the festival including the movie night on Friday, street festival on Saturday and pride picnic on Sunday. We were able to secure several media articles as well including an articles in The Detroit News, MLive, one in Between The Lines before and one after, Windy City Times out of Chicago, Man About World, and OutPost. The Facebook event reached 42,000 people, with 1,400 responses. We also distributed a 24-page program guide, and over 100 posters in the community to promote the weekend.
