About the event
Spandan the Three Day Annual Mega Media Cultural Festival, organized by Vivekananda School of Journalism and Mass Communication, is one of the biggest cultural festivals. Spandan translates to ‘Heartbeat’ in Sanskrit. It brings together hundreds of students and teachers who give this event the required shape by working laboriously for months. It offers a platform to college students from across the nation to not only demonstrate their skills and talents but also provides them an opportunity to interact with media entrepreneurs and industry experts and gain practical experience. While new things replace old things in many situations, this doesn't always have to be the case.Despite of emergence of new media, traditional media still plays an important role in communication and information dissemination. Traditional tools of communication are developed from the deep-rooted beliefs, customs and the rituals practiced by the people.
