  • About the event

Nominated 5x for "Best Arts Event in Vermont", The Vermont Burlesque Festival is an annual all inclusive event that raises money and awareness for local charities all while celebrating body positivity and the burlesque revival.

    Why should you sponsor?

Nominated five (5) times by the readers of the Seven Days newspaper as “Best Live Arts Event in Vermont,” The Vermont Burlesque Festival (VTBF) is an annual multi day, multi city, all inclusive performing arts event that utilizes burlesque as a medium to put an emphasis on body positivity, inclusivity, health, wellness, local charities, gender equality, live performing arts & live entertainment. VTBF features Vermont’s local burlesque community but also comedians, artists, musicians, and a variety of performance artists from around the world.  With guest performers regularly from overseas, typically more than 200 performers participate on multiple stages, over 5 days. As of 2023, about 1250 ticket holders (about 60% from Vermont and 40% from out of state) attend annually and about 350 watch on-line virtually. Attendees participate in a number of activities – Themed showcases, dinners, cocktail tastings, classes, dance events, competitions, vending, auctions, charity fundraisers, games, and general networking. Geared more for adults, every day and every event of the VTBF promises a uniquely different experience.

When it comes to philanthropy, the festival cooperates with several charities raising money and awareness for…  Breast Cancer Research at the Cancer Center at UVM, The Pride Center of Vermont Health & Wellness Program, WARMTH – a heating fuel assistance program, and the grant program at The Vermont Arts Council.  The festival also promotes body positivity and acceptance of human differences.  Since 2014, the VTBF has raised over $8,000 for local charities and has exposed those charities to it’s 18,000 followers & subscribers.

WHO:  Executive Producers Cory Royer & Kyla Waldron team up with Karen Dorey (associate producer) and a part time staff and volunteer family that typically rises about 200 people.  As of 2023, corporate and government partners have included Hendrick’s Gin, The Vermont Department of Tourism, BuzzBallz, Seven Days Newspaper, and Polly.

WHAT: Five days of burlesque themed activities, including classes, black tie events, social hours, vending, live art, educational cocktail tastings, a silent auction, and 5 uniquely different themed showcases.

WHEN: Annually with the next event currently scheduled for: January 17-21, 2024

    WHERE:
    Burlington & Barre City, Vermont

WHY: The burlesque revival is still in full-swing, making burlesque more popular than it’s been in decades.  We enjoy creating an annual Vermont based winter event that leaves glorious smiles on faces and gives back to the community. There are opportunities for everyone and anyone to learn, celebrate, contribute, and be entertained by not only the existing Vermont burlesque community, but by talent from outside of Vermont’s borders. Burlesque is an all inclusive, all accepting, entertaining and creative art form filled with expression, emotion, and passion.
    …And its fun! …That’s why.

We have been producing the Vermont Burlesque Festival since 2013 and have become one of Vermont's most anticipated yearly winder events.  We pride ourselves in providing one of the best ROI values out of any other local event.  It is because of this that we continually gain the trust and return support from international sponsors such as Hendrick's Gin.  We strive to provide not only one of the best live art events in the state but to also provide our supporters with the best value and brand recognition we can.
