Created in 1967 by Maurice Revello, the Festival International Espoirs - Maurice Revello Tournament (formerly known as the "Toulon Tournament") is an annual international football competition, reserved for players under the age of 21. Every year, it brings together twelve national teams from all continents in the region Sud. To date, 66 different nations have taken part in the Maurice Revello Tournament since its creation.
Thousands of players have played on the region's pitches in succession, more than 2,000 of whom have gone on to become A-team internationals. Among them, about sixty have been crowned world champions with their country, and four have won the Grail for a professional footballer: the Ballon d'Or. We have thus had the honour of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinédine Zidane, Jean-Pierre Papin, Hristo Stoichkov, Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Didier Deschamps, Daniel Alves, Laurent Blanc, Javier Mascherano and many others play in the Tournament.
A rich history that has earned us a place among the most remunerative competitions in terms of points for a player to obtain a work permit, in the English Football Federation's scale of points established by the new Brexit regulations. The Maurice Revello Tournament is thus placed at the same level as the Olympic Games or the Euro Espoirs football tournament.
