About the event
The Short Film Awards, affectionately nicknamed the SOFIES, was born out of a love for the special art form known as the Short Film. Due to its brief nature, the Short Film genre fosters an unmatched spirit of creativity, resourcefulness and independence that inspires, stirs and transforms.
On November 21, 2015, The 2nd Annual Short Film Awards will draw an elite group of filmmakers to Broadway in New York City to celebrate some of the best, most beautiful and powerful short films. A live audience of hundreds of short film enthusiasts from around the world, in person and online, will witness the excitement of the SOFIE Award Nominees and the thrills as the stunning SOFIE statuette is bestowed upon one winner for each of the 19 categories.
The SOFIE Awards spotlight and honor the talent and hard work of the best producers, directors, writers, actors, cinematographers, sound engineers, stylists and other creators of short films. The Short Film Awards Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization registered in the American state of Delaware. All donations are tax-deductible.
