    THE GOWANBANK HUB

    At The Hub we deliver compassionate help and support, whether

    responding to an immediate crisis or supporting recovery activity. We

    work to improve financial well-being, emotional well-being,

    relationships, educational and employment pathways to make a

    phenomenal impact on financial insecurity, deprivation, social

    Isolation and health inequality caused by poverty within our

    community.

    The Gowanbank Hub is a community support organisation that provides an essential support service to children, families and individuals who are in crisis across Glasgow.

    PROJECT BACKGROUND
    The Gowanbank Hub was “officially” established in February 2021 by our CEO Dawn Peart and Director Leanora Jackson from a cloakroom with a £100 gift voucher from Tesco . The organisation was officially formed to help families within a local school who where in need during the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

    However the couple later realised the was a real need for the support within
    the local area.

    Having left the school The Gowanbank Hub has expanded significantly and is
    thought to be one of the fastest growing social enterprises within the region
    and has recently been awarded official social enterprise status by Social
    Enterprise Scotland.

    THE PHENOMENAL
    EVENT
    On the 28th August 2021 are hosting " THE
    PHENOMENAL ONE" fundraising event. At this event, we will be hosting a cabaret performance with a number showing the best of local talent including singers,
    dancers, local performers as well as headline acts.

    The phenomenal event offers our guests a night to remember with an evening filled with entertainment including music, song , dance, laughs and drama from a selection of local artists from across the stunning city Glasgow.

    You will receive a refreshing glass of bubbly on arrival followed by a mouth watering three course meal served with half bottle if red / white wine.

    During your meal you will be treated to a vBurlesque Scotland was founded by multi-award winning burlesque performer and multi-award winning burlesque performer Brandy Montmartre.

    Not to mention some of the most highly saught after named in the entertainment world including:

    David Boakes: Recognised as the top UK Michael Jackson Tribute Act for the past 16 years. Featured TV appearances, interviews, celebrity parties, high profile events, MJ album launches and performances all around the world.

    Forever Queen: A four piece Queen tribute band. The band have been going for 10 years and have played some of the best venues in the UK and abroad. Queen has been one of THE most successful rock bands of all time and, as musicians, it is an honour to be able to recreate their music and image in our show.

     And let’s not forget our special guest a Lisiters including UK Ru Paul's Drag Race Star Bagga Chips, BGT The Coven and you could be ending the evening with UK national treasure, and isolation nation star GOK WAN as a special guest DJ .

    When you buy your tickets for this event. You will be making all the difference in the world to the some of of our communities most vulnerable people. So you can feel good knowing that all profits from this event will go towards the vital support the Gowanbank Hub does.

    LOCATION

    The phenomenal event will be held at DOUBLETREE BY HILTON

    GLASGOW CENTRAL Boasting the largest function room in

    Scotland with 993 sq. m./10,688 sq. ft. of flexible space,

    accommodating up to 1,500 delegates.

    NUMBER OF DELEGATES
    Due to covid-19 restrictions DOUBLETREE BY HILTON GLASGOW
    CENTRAL have placed restrictions on the number of delegates
    that can attend our event. This currently stands at 790
    delegates. However this number is reviewed regularly.

    DERMOGRAPHIC

    We are inviting 300 delegates to our event. These delegates are from across the private,

    public and third sectors. With a 52% Male / 46% Female / 2% Other Spit. 58% of our

    delegates are in the 33 - 56 years old . 76% of our delegates are within middle

    management - C Suite Level level.

    BENEFICIARIES
    At The Hub we deliver compassionate help and support,
    whether responding to an immediate crisis or
    supporting recovery activity.
    The areas in which we we work in are within the top 15%
    of the index of multiple deprivation.
    Our service users are from all aged groups, on low
    incomes, or benefits as a result of poor education, poor
    social and environmental factors, or other
    circumstances.

    NUMBER OF BENEFICIARIES
    we estimate that over 25,000 people will benefit from funds
    raised from this event this event .

    We will also issue a press realise into mainstream media across
    local and national levels.

    REAL STORIES

    ROSES STORY*

    Rose arrived at The Gowanbank Hub with her life

    possessions. She had been forced to flee her community

    and the people she knew because of domestic abuse.

    After several years of abuse, Rose had finally found the

    courage to leave her marriage and move to a place of

    safety with her five children.

    Luckily for Rose, The Gowanbank Hub was nearby so she

    could turn to them for help.

    The Hub not only gave Rose a food parcel, but they

    listened to her story and were able to give her additional

    support. The Gowanbank Hub worked with specialist

    services to aid her escape to safe accommodation,

    storing some of her possessions.

    The Gowanbankbank Hub continued to offer support

    and worked with Rose offering help , advice and support

    where needed.

    THE PHEN OMENA L

    O NE / EVENT

    JOHNS* STORY

    John* , Arrived on a wet Wednesday afternoon, seeking help with food. It Turned it that this gent

    had just arrived in the community after spending several years living on the streets. John had a

    whole list of health conditions.

    After listening to John, our team discovered that he had no furniture. Luckily for John the team

    at The Gowanbank Hub have formed some amazing partnerships. John was provided with a

    food parcel – But unbeknown to John within 3 days or so John had a whole house of furniture.

    JOHNS* STORY

    Jean a mother of one child , called Love* . Walked into The Gowanbank Hub. This family was special.

    The Child was (LGBTQ+) The family was in financial hardship and needed help.

    Thankfully, The Gowanbank Hub is linked into all schools within the local area. The specialist

    volunteers at The Gowanbank Hub listened to the story of this family and drew up a self-guided

    action plan.

    We provided Jean and Love with a food parcel , fuel vouchers and they are

    provided with hot meals every week.

    The Gowanbank Hub Work closely with the family and will continue to do so.

    To date The Gowanbank Hub boasts amazing achievements such as

    • delivering over 2600 Easter eggs to local disadvantaged residents , care homes and over the Easter period. we have also dishing out over 13,000 meals to people in need , helped  families escape domestic abuse as well as  secured over £10k in grants for some of communities most vulnerable.

    The Gowanbank Hub has also received the highest level of Commandment from the MP Chris Stephens of the house of commons.
