Why should you sponsor?
My goal is to spread the love of earth science and geology to the next generation! I grew up in a rock shop and learned how important ethical mining, geology, and the earth was! I started The Crystal Festival to showcase the amazing wonders of mother earth and this tiny rock show isn't so tiny anymore! It now draws huge crowds and I want to file with businesses to get sponsorships for museum-grade displays and educational activities for the kid's corner (which is now several rooms in the Davis conference center and is not a small kids area). I have been running The Crystal Festival for over 11 years but in the past 3 years, it had exploded!
This show had gone from a trunk show to over 10,000 attendees and quickly filling the Davis Conference Center. We are now in multiple rooms and are to the point of offering our vendors perks like breakfast, and a vendor lounge.
My next project is to create a world class kids corner! I want gold panning, fossil dig, educational displays and more! I have contracted a Crystal Festival Coloring Book with Diamond Dan publications and that alone was quite pricy. How do I go about getting a few sponsors to help make this dream a reality and pass on my love of geology to the next generation? I am doing tons of advertising, and have lots of printed materials around the state so sponsorships would not be wasted! We also pass out 1000 crystal festival VIP bags i could stuff with coupons or fliers/etc. I have lots of ways to make sponsorships appealing I just dont know how to ask for then or who to even contact.
As it is I volunteer in classrooms, teach at homeschool co-ops and offer free geology classes online. But i also want to have the most epic kids hall for geology in Utah! If you have any experience with sponsorships or know someone who could help please let me know.

My name is Adrienne McElwain, I grew up in a rock shop on Redwood Road in Salt Lake City Utah. When I was 15 I noticed a divide between the mineralogist and the Mineral Clubs, the lapidarist and Lapidary Clubs, and the metaphysical and Alternative Healing Practitioners. I really wanted to bridge this gap and get everyone together in one place, in one room, to celebrate the amazing art Mother Nature made together. When I was 24 I fulfilled that goal by creating The Crystal Festival to do just that. This show started out as a trunk show at my father's store.
As it grew my goals expanded and I wanted to offer children a place at the show to encourage and grow their interests in not just one but every area of geology. I started volunteering in classrooms to go teach 4th and 9th-grade geology for teachers. Then I started teaching full geology classes as part of the Crystal Festival. These were and still are to this day FREE. In 2018 the store closed, and I went 2 years without hosting a show. In 2019 I scheduled my first show which would as it turned out be after the start of COVID. I was devastated after spending nearly 3 years figuring out how to organize a show at a convention center that my show would be canceled. In fact, I was so devastated I worked with the health department, Davis Conference Center, and a group of show organizers to keep it going! And, in September 2020 I hosted the first Crystal Festival at the Davis Conference Center! I have been doing 2-4 festivals a year since, and they are just getting bigger and bigger. Now I am looking for some sponsors to help grow the show to the next level! Bring in educational and interative dispplays and grow thee love of geology in thee next generation.
