The theme of our 2022 Conference is “The Black Print: Through the Decades”. Our main goal for this year's conference is to inform the attendees about black fashion and the impact that it has on our society today. Black culture is simply the blueprint for pop culture, we have had an influence on fashion, slang, music, etc. For this year’s conference, we wanted to pay homage to the influence that black people have had in the fashion community and acknowledge the trends that the black community has created; both past and present.
A sponsor should support our event because it is a conference that uplifts a marginalized community.
My name is Lauree Saint-Elien, I am currently a 3rd year student at Queen's University, and I am a co-founder and Co-chair of Queen's Black Fashion Association.
Queen’s Black Fashion Association is a fashion club that my friend and I reated in Spring of 2021, because we saw the lack of diversity in clubs at Queen’s University. We wanted to create a community where BIPOC’s felt safe and where like-minded individuals could build a community, while appreciating and acknowledging the influence that black fashion has had in the fashion industry.
