About the event
This is a State Mixed Disability Football Tournament. There will be 6 participating teams from 6 districts of West Bengal, India. Around 60 para-athletes will be participating in this tournament. In Mixed Disability Football athletes with different types of disabilities play football together. This was introduced by Civilian Welfare Foundation for the first time in India.

Nupur SarkarCivilian Welfare Foundation is a non-profit NGO working to integrate different social issues like disability rights, LGBTQ rights, healthcare, sports, and child rights towards an inclusive approach of equality and equity. We are a women-led youth organization based in West Bengal working on intersections of child education, disability, healthcare, and gender for the last 12 years with over 1000 beneficiaries. The work areas include 7 districts of West Bengal. Civilian Welfare Foundation has initiated various unique projects for the first time in India including the Basic-healthcare needs of Transgender population, Tri-Nation Wheelchair Cricket and State Mixed Disability Football Tournament. We also organise the world’s only Walk for Paralympics to spread awareness for disability rights.
