Giving Illness A Time Out
A Kid Again looks forward to the day that every child with a life-threatening illness in America can be A Kid Again. We include the whole family in every adventure we host year round. Our families say adventures are something positive to look forward to and offer a distraction from routine medical care. Whether a child is battling an all too common disease like cancer, or a rare disease like Hunter Syndrome, they ALL deserve to be a kid again.
Our Adventures
What is an adventure? An A Kid Again Adventure is an opportunity to forget about being sick and enjoy a day out with the family to focus on fun! Tickets, food, parking, mementos, and memories are all provided as the A Kid Again community gathers for an incredible event.
What We Do:
We make life for families caring for a child with a life-threatening illness “normal” again by helping them regain moments of positive, family-shared experiences and memories.
What is An Adventure?
A chance to be a kid again; time away from the hospital; an opportunity to forget about being sick; a group experience to a local destination with free tickets, food, parking, mementos, and memories to last until the next Adventure.
Why We Do It;
A Kid Again is specifically designed to involve the entire family (not just the child who is ill) to improve the well-being of everyone affected by the situation. This approach helps protect and strengthen the children’s primary support network and personal resolve during the most difficult period in their lives.
