Sky Wars, presented by the Missouri Pyrotechnics Association, is the nation's largest fireworks competition held in Innsbrook, Missouri.

About this event

Sky Wars is the nation's largest fireworks competition and one of the only pyrotechnic competitions in the U.S. We invite pyrotechnicians (who are among the nation's top fireworks choreographers) to create breathtaking pyromusicals for an audience of all ages.

Sky Wars is celebrating its 17th annual fireworks championship on September 24, 2022 with two hours of fiery fun for the entire family. Sky Wars will feature The Fireball Dudes, who hold a world record for their signature gasoline fireballs. They will attempt to break another world record at this year's event.

• GROUP SALES - Have a large group? For groups (25 and up), we have a special rate. Please contact Sky Wars ticket staff at 314-730-0793 to book.
• SPONSORS - Multiple levels of sponsorship are available to area businesses and patrons. For details, email *****@****.***.
• FAMILIES - Children ages 5 and younger get free admission, but must have a ticket. The Children's Festival Area will be open from 2-7 p.m. before the fireworks show.
• VIP EXPERIENCE - (Limited availability) VIP area opens at 2 p.m.; 4:30 p.m. - Bar Opens; 4:30-5:30 p.m. - Passed Appetizers; 6-8 p.m. - Buffet and Desserts; 9:30 p.m. - Bar Closes. Beer and wine included. *Everyone - including children of all ages - needs a ticket to access the VIP area.
• PARKING - There are two types of parking - Free and Reserved - over multiple lots. Both options offer handicapped-accessible spots. Reserved parking's entrance is closer to the seating area, and reserved parking vehicles will be given priority to exit the event at the end of the evening.

Why should you sponsor?

This pyrotechnic competition is out of this world!  It will ruin you for any other "fireworks show" you may see!  Your VIP experience will allow you to enjoy this in a private, up-close way, to entertain clients or family and friends.  Plus, your total sponsorship of $1,000 is a donation to Wags & Whiskers! There are over 10,000 attendees, 20 food trucks (but you'll be in VIP with fantastic food provided) music, a kids play area, and then the SHOW!  All in all a terrific event that helps Wags & Whiskers provide care for the dogs and cats of Warren County, MO.

There is a long history of effort on behalf of pets in the Warren County area, beginning with Homer and Alice Drew who in 1989 formed Animal Welfare Association and began to foster and adopt dogs and cats. From there, other groups joined the effort.

In 2001, a group of animal lovers formed Concerned Citizens for Animal Care of Warren County (CCAC) with the purpose of raising funds to build a shelter to support local pets.

​In 2018, the funds necessary to begin the process of building the shelter were raised and work was begun on locating a property appropriate for a shelter.  In 2020, the owners of Innsbrook Corporation purchased land near Highways F and M and invited us to partner with them to build a shelter on this property.

​In 2021, the name of CCAC, the fundraising organization, was changed to Wags & Whiskers, a name that reflects our current mission of building and operating a shelter to serve pets in the Warren County area.
