About the event
Derby Days is the largest collegiate philanthropy event in North America. Put on by the International Fraternity Sigma Chi, all proceeds are directly donated to the Huntsman Cancer institute. The Huntsman Cancer Foundation is the leading cancer research facility and hospital in North America. With over 150 clinical trials currently taking place, the Huntsman Cancer Foundation is changing the way we treat cancer. However, curing cancer is not cheap. They rely heavily on the charitable donations from Sigma Chi and Derby Days. This year, the SFA chapter is looking to raise $20,000. But, as you know, it takes money to make money. We are ending derby days with a huge party. Parties can be one of the most profitable events held on college campuses.
Being diagnosed with cancer is one of the loneliest feelings in the world. You feel targeted. But, purchasing the platinum package will also get your company or personal name on a brick that will be placed on the “Walk of Hope”. The walk of Hope is located in front of the main entrance of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. After your car is complementary valeted, you make the walk into the institution. On that walk, there are thousands of bricks. On them, are the names of doners who have donated at least $1,000.

Daulton ChannelMy name is Daulton Channel, and I’m the Derby Days chairman this year. The Huntsman Cancer Foundation means so much to me, and anyone effected by cancer. I’ve spent so much time and effort into getting Derby Days planned and budgeted for. But, being a small chapter, we are very limited financially on what we can and cannot do. That’s why I need YOUR help!!
