About the event

The Ram Comedy Festival is an independant comedy festival in the city of Derby that is making a return after not being able to run since the pandemic.

The festival will see over 70 of the UK's best touring comedy shows come to Derby over a 10 day period, across 4 seperate venues of varying size and shapes to accommedate all types of shows.

The Ram Comedy Festival has massive potential as a real cornerstone of the arts scene of Derby. When ran previously there was a real strong appetite from both the industry and audiences alike.

The timing of our festival allows it the be a fantastic spring board for comedians doing their final refinements to their shows before going to Edinburgh in August, meaning we attract some of the best UK talent in comedy. We're hoping we can partner with a brand that wants to support the UK arts scene, and in return we can offer plenty of in person exposure through signage with our audiences in our shows and through our printed media & materials. Printed brochures are still the most popular way for audiences to navigate comedy festivals and will be a great way to get your brand in front of eyes.

We expect anywhere in between 2000-5000 people to come to shows throughout the festival.

My name is James Beckett, a local comedian & promoter whose working in colloboration with all the major stakeholders throughout the comedy scene in Derby to bring this festival to Derby, for Derby.

We have an amazing offering here in Derby for performing arts, with big audiences and lots going on, but a massive hole in terms of a celebration of Derby being a great home for live comedy.

I'm so passionate about making this festival a success and a positive force for the area and those involved, and making folk laugh is when of the most rewarding payoff in this job. Bringing that through a festival is a pure bucket list opportunity for me, and i can't wait to bring it all together with the experience and wise council of the all the stakeholders involved!
