Marketing in the ballroom scene for LGBTQ+ youth of color offers a unique and untapped opportunity. This vibrant community provides a dynamic platform to engage with a diverse and influential audience that is both highly connected and trend-setting.
This demographic is tech-savvy and socially engaged, often driving conversations and shaping trends across multiple platforms, making them powerful brand ambassadors. By aligning with ballroom culture, sponsors have the chance to reach a community often overlooked by traditional marketing strategies, building authentic connections and fostering deep brand loyalty.
While discrimination and economic disparities can limit access to resources, this community remains resilient, supporting one another through grassroots initiatives and advocating for inclusive spaces. These challenges have shaped their consumption patterns, resulting in a dynamic consumer base that is reflective of their intersectional identities.
Our mission is to celebrate a decade of empowering queer youth within the ballroom community, while honoring the achievements of leaders and artists who have shaped this culture. Through this event, we aim to create a space for recognition, connection, and growth, offering resources and opportunities to inspire the next generation to thrive both in ballroom and beyond.
Our vision is to cultivate a future where queer youth in the ballroom community are celebrated, supported, and equipped with the tools to succeed. By combining celebration with empowerment, we see this event as a catalyst for strengthening bonds within the community, preserving ballroom culture, and inspiring innovation and leadership for the next decade and beyond.
I’m Jahdi, a two-time Hall of Fame inductee with over 20 years of unwavering dedication to empowering queer and trans youth through the art of ballroom. Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to teaching ballroom for free, ensuring that young people, regardless of their financial circumstances, have access to this transformative form of self-expression and artistic growth.
As the founder of Queer Felicity, I’ve created a safe space where queer and trans youth can come together to learn, grow, and celebrate their identities. My mission is to provide not only a platform for artistic development but also a sense of belonging, strength, and community. Through ballroom, I help these young individuals build self-confidence, resilience, and leadership, empowering them to thrive both on and off the dance floor.
Being inducted into the Hall of Fame twice is an honor that reflects my commitment to the ballroom scene and its impact on the lives of countless young people. My work goes beyond teaching the art of ballroom; it's about creating a space where every queer and trans youth can feel seen, valued, and supported as they embrace their true selves.
