ParentChild+ California Gala,

About the event

ParentChild+ Home Visiting is a program that provides support and guidance to parents and caregivers of young children through regular home visits. The program is designed to help families who are at risk of poor developmental outcomes for their children, such as low-income families, immigrant/refugee families or families with limited access to resources.

Trained professionals from within the community they are serving, known as Early Learning Specialists, visit families and home based childcare providers in their homes twice a week. During these visits, they provide caregivers with educational toys and books, modeling and coaching on how to interact with their children, and support for engaging in activities that promote their child's learning and development.

The program aims to help children develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond, and to support parents in their role as their child's first and most important teacher. ParentChild+ Home Visiting has been shown to be effective in improving children's cognitive and language skills, as well as their social and emotional development.
