"Outside the Box Child" Educational Conference,

About the event

I am reaching out to you in the hopes that you will help support the latest initiative of the Child Success Foundation.  The foundation is committed to shining a light on the struggles of children with developmental and learning challenges.  So, this September we will be hosting our first annual educational conference and fundraiser.  We believe that this conference will be profoundly impactful for the attendees and the community.  Often times children with these challenges are seen as behavioral problems or kids that just don't try. Through educating teachers, professionals and families we hope to change that perception and create compassion for this community. The topics covered at the conference will be working with schools, helping kids with executive functioning challenges and sensory processing issues, understanding anxiety in children and supporting kids with learning challenges. 

The work that the foundation does is crucial for creating a lasting impact for children and their families. The cost of treatment for developmental and learning challenges is high and is often not covered by insurance. This can be a deterrent to kids getting the help they need.  By providing families with grants to pay for up to half of the cost of treatment, the Foundation ensures that kids will get the help they need when they need it.

My name is Erica and I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker.  I have worked in the non-profit community for close to twenty years with the singular goal of helping people to live better lives.  I have lived in Los Angeles my entire lfe and care about this community a great deal.  Through my work with the Child Success Foundation I am thrilled to be helping kids with developmental and learning challnges get the best possible start in life!
