Osco presents a different concept of security conference - literally from the community, for the community! It offers a platform to ease the learning curve in cybersecurity and provides the opportunity to learn, discuss, and teach.
We are a group of enthusiasts working in different areas of cybersecurity and adjacent domains. Our jobs range from security champions in delivery teams to security consultants and CISO-like roles. We met at various non-security events and realised we’re tired of the gatekeeping that pushes interested folks away from security.
We figured we were missing a security event run as an Open Space - an event where all folks interested in security can learn from each other, no matter their current roles, areas or levels of expertise. We decided to fill this gap, bring this effective community-driven format to security and hence create a different kind of security event, focused on people and breaking any gatekeeping.
As part of the Open Space format, no agenda is set before the event. To give you an idea what kinds of topics you can expect at osco:
Secure software lifecycle applied
Security testing (e.g. with OWASP Juice Shop)
Security champion program experiences
Security games: learning with fun
Making security usable and accessible
Continuous compliance
… and anything else you’d like to hear or talk about!
The magic recipe is that we co-create the program together onsite - whatever is most valuable to you right there and then will become part of the agenda! Bring your ideas, questions, interests, challenges; this is where we will all get the best out of it.
On top of that, the conference will be opened with two amazing keynotes by Björn Kimminich and Yvonne Johnson!
We want to offer our participants the best conference experience. But a comfortable and accessible location, energizing and healthy food and equipment are not for free. This clashes with our goal to make it as affordable as possible, to make this event inclusive. We don’t want to scare away participants because of high prices.
Since we are not a company but a group of volunteers we need your help. You or your company can become a sponsor for the Open Security Conference 2024!
This is a great opportunity to engage with a diverse and very active community. Together we can create a great experience.
