About the event
Oddessy of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition that has been going on for 40 years! Students work in groups of 5-7 to compete in many different types of events. There are two parts to Odessy, Long-Term and Spontaneous. The Long-Term problem usually consists of writing scripts, performing, and sometimes even engineer stuff such as a vehicle. The other part is Spontaneous where students perform and solve a problem on the spot. This part can be verbal like creating a story, Hands on like building the tallest and stablest build out of everyday materials and are judged and is based on their creativeness. Students are encouraged to not see other teams as the competition but friendly people who are interested in the same thing.
Why should you sponsor?
As one of the teams going to Worlds, we, Temple City High School are in desperate need for a sponsor. If we are to go to our dream competition, we need 22,000 dollars and we are not even halfway there yet. Before this year, going to worlds is just a huge dream for us. But this year, two of our teams miraculously placed for state and is advancing for Worlds. We all want to experience something we never did before but we are on a money crunch right now; We worked so hard to get fundraising but that only earns us about 100$. It would never get us to our goal and sponsorships are the only ways we can go on our dream trip, so please, if you are interested in sponsoring us, we will work our hearts out to get your company noticed during the week because you helped us get there.
Sabrina LuoWe are a club at our high school, Temple City High School competing at Worlds of Oddessy of the Mind competition.
