About the event

MUNs or Model United Nations are conferences that are primarily academic simulations of the working of the United Nations and incorporate conformist United Nations rules, procedures and workflow between International delegations, the Executive Board and the International Press while involving qualified, upper-crust parliamentary debaters from all academic backgrounds, undergraduate and postgraduate. Model United Nations differ vastly from standard debating competitions due to its vastness, and its sophisticated nature. A MUN reaches out to and involves far more competitors than a large-scale debate, which means that the committee size can be anywhere between of 40-50 delegates to 120 delegates. Various organs, councils, or committees of the United Nations are simulated in an MUN.

Jesus and Mary College, one of Delhi University's premier colleges is hosting the Twelfth Edition of its Model United Nation Conference. We are expecting around 350-400 students from schools and colleges all over the country will be attending the event. It is estimated that the physical and online publicity material will reach over 15,000 students, including the students of JMC and other DU colleges, as well as online visitors to our Instagram, Facebook page, and website.
