About the event

The Mridang is a 2000 year old instrument used in South India.

We wish to present the Mridang in a contemporary context where people can interact with it. We will be talking about the history of this instrument, Planting saplings of the Jack Fruit trees as its made from the wood of this tree.

There will be a Kolam hands on workshop where members can understand beat.

There will be a konakkol body movement experience followed by performances. 

The artists performing are masters in their field of work.
