About the event
Mexicana Universal USA is one of most prestigious Latin American cultural events and beauty pageants produced in the United States. The event started as Mexicana Universal as the official competition to select a representative from Mexico to participate in the most important beauty pageant in the world: Miss Universe. We are now giving the opportunity to the Mexican Community in the United States to have a woman with Mexican heritage to represent our community in the national pageant in México. That’s why we are now producing the contest Mexicana Universal USA to have a powerful platform that inspire this community to pursue their dreams and projects, keeping and loving their cultural roots and heritage.

It represents the opportunity for Mexicans born or with Mexican parents residing in the United States to participate in the National Final in Mexico of Mexicana Universal as the 33rd participant, thus having the opportunity to represent Mexico in one of the international contests such as Miss Universe, Miss International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Our Universal Latin American, Miss Charm or Miss ORB International.
Lupita Jones has for years supported the idea of highlighting Latina women in the world. Now this new contest is possible in the United States of America, including all of Latin America focused on exalting The Latina woman with her beauty, elegance, culture, tradition and elements that identify all Latinos as unique worldwide.

Julio GonzalezMexicana Universal is a national beauty pageant in Mexico held annually since 2018, replacing the former pageant, Nuestra Belleza México, held since 1994. Currently, the pageant is responsible for selecting the country’s delegates to Miss Universe, Miss International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Charm International, and Nuestra Latinoamericana Universal. The current Mexicana Universal is Débora Hallal of Sinaloa, who will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2021.
The organization is directed by the nation's first Miss Universe titleholder, Lupita Jones (1991).[1] Who originally produced the pageant as Nuestra Belleza México in association with the Televisa TV network. In october of 2017, the organization parted ways with Televisa, and found a new home for the pageant's broadcasting in rival network TV Azteca, rebranding the pageant due to televisa still owning the trademark, and changing the format.[2]
The organization has produced two Miss Universe winners (2010, 2020), two Miss International winners (2007, 2009), and two Reina Hispanoamericana winners (2008, 2019).
