Laganja Estranja @ Melkweg, Amsterdam,

Amsterdam, Nordholland, Netherlands Amsterdam, Nordholland, Netherlands

  • About the event

RuPauls Drag Race is a reality TV phenomenon in the US that casts Drag Queens to eventually crown Americas Next Drag Superstar. That the host of show, RuPaul, just won an Emmy for this show shows its popularity but more importantly, the people that support the show and watch the show year by year are the reason why the show is still running.

Amsterdam rarely had the chance to book one of the contestants of the show due to a lack of budget, funds, or purely organizational aspects. However, the demand is so high that not just only members of the LGBTQ community but also allies keep asking when the next so called "RuGirl" is coming to Amsterdam. In the past two years, the "RuPaul Battle of the Seasons" tour had four shows in Amsterdam’s famous Melkweg and was an immense success.

Now it is time that more Drag Queens are coming to Amsterdam to celebrate the pride of the LGBTQ community. DragXit is a young start up organization that has just been founded in order to organize drag extravaganza events in Amsterdam. For the first show, DragXit booked Laganja Estranja which was a contestant in season 6 of RuPauls Drag Race and now tours the world with her dance school. In order to fund the event and provide the LGBTQ youth a platform to meet their idols and find support in visiting the events, DragXit is looking for sponsors that are willing to help to fund the event.

    Why should you sponsor?

The LGBTQ community is a community that is still constantly looking for more support and platforms with which the members can unfold their true inner self in an environment they feel comfortable in. With sponsoring this event will help not only with organizing this one event to which we invited in total 8 Drag Queens from Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Berlin, but it will also help to build up funds with which further events in the future can be organized. The Facebook event reached within one week a total reach of 20k, which shows the popularity of the event.
