Band of Brothers Augusta is excited to announce the 6th Annual Juneteenth Augusta Weekend. “Juneteenth” is an annual celebration to commemorate the emancipation of the last remaining group of slaves in 1865. This year the festivities will be held on Friday thru Sunday, June 17th-19th, 2022. In the excitement of this Familial Community celebration, Band of Brothers Augusta has created an innovative way for your organization to help have a significant impact on the attendee’s lives, while also spreading comradery amongst the community.
Mahogany Lounge: Juneteenth Edition – Friday June 17, 2022
8pm – 11pm
The Mahogany Lounge: Juneteenth Edition is a new addition to the Juneteenth Augusta Weekend lineup. The Mahogany Lounge began as a soulful poetic experience developed by Dorian Harris aka “The Art Dealer”. The event embodies the finest spoken word poetry, live entertainment, & great people all under one roof.
Juneteenth Dayla – Saturday June 18, 2022
6pm – 11pm
The Juneteenth Dayla is a semi-formal gala hosted annually by the Band of Brothers as part of the Juneteenth Augusta Weekend. With so many unsung heroes in our community, The Band of Brothers believes this is the perfect chance to give back to the Augusta/CSRA community by awarding nominated and deserving individuals/organizations for outstanding accomplishments and continuous community service work within our community.
Juneteenth Festival – Sunday June 19, 2022
12pm – 8pm
The Juneteenth Augusta Festival is hosted annually by the Band of Brothers as the finale to the Juneteenth Augusta Weekend. The purpose of the festival is to bring awareness about Juneteenth and spread comradery amongst the community while commemorating the emancipation of our ancestors. With some additional assistance from city officials, the Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce, and other local organizations, this event comes complete with soulful-conscious speakers, health and wellness checks, phenomenal musical and spoken word acts, extravagant exhibits, entertainment for kids, and vendors from all across the CSRA. This event always has been and will remain FREE to the public in successive years!

Founded in 2017, the Band of Brothers Augusta, Inc. (B.O.B); was formed and hosted the inaugural JUNETEENTH AUGUSTA FESTIVAL, where we began to spread the message of self-knowledge, history, and love for one another. As a unique 501(c)3 non-profit, we promote and ensure economic growth, community outreach, and mentorship throughout the Augusta/CSRA community and annually host the Juneteenth Augusta celebration.
The goal of Band of Brothers is to identify specific, unmet needs in our community and work with community organizations and leaders to fill them. We rely on volunteers, donors, and other partners to provide financial, time, skills, and resource-based support to help advance our cause.
Investing in our organization fuels its growth, sustainability and gives power back to the community. Long-term support is crucial to deliver the systemic change needed to ensure a lasting impact in the Augusta community, which will amplify the community's resilience and strength while catalyzing growth and opportunity.
