About the event
InstaSpeedathon 2024 will be the 6th annual event in the InstaSpeedathon series of charity speedrun marathons, taking place in Wrexham, North Wales.
InstaSpeedathon started in 2018 with a small trial event, with our first proper event taking place in 2019 and the event has grown every year since, raising a combined total of over £2000 to charity.
The main charity we fundraise for is EveryoneCan, a charity who work with and help disabled people to play games using custom gaming peripherals. They're based in Manchester and host gaming sessions at their gaming centre in Sale. We have also recently raised money for the Yellow and Blue Hub, a local community hub in Wrexham.
InstaSpeedathon brings together communities of gamers and speedrunners who have a passion for the games they play, and through speedrunning they show off their skills in completing games in the fastest possible time. Over the years, many different speedrun marathons have been organised, most notably GamesDoneQuick in the United States, with new marathons starting up nowadays as tools for doing so have become more mainstream.
InstaSpeedathon is broadcast live on the InstaSpeedathon Twitch Channel, although to celebrate our 6th annual event we hope to bring our next annual event in person.

By sponsoring InstaSpeedathon 2024, you can help to turn a long-awaited dream into reality. I've always wanted to host an in person event for InstaSpeedathon, however different setbacks have meant this hasn't been particularly easy, most notable the Covid-19 pandemic.
Being the 6th annual event, I wanted to make this even more special by finally bringing an in person event to those who have participated and supported us since 2019.
Whilst we normally average around 10-50 concurrent viewers at any given time at InstaSpeedathon, we envisage this will be much higher if we host in person, which will not only be a benefit to ourselves, it will also provide us new avenues to fundraise for charity as well as provide us a unique opportunity to promote those who support us along the way.

Emyr OwenMy name is Emyr and I am the Founder and Owner of InstaSim, as well as the Lead Organiser for InstaSpeedathon
I started InstaSim back in 2015 as a YouTube Channel, recording gameplay videos and uploading them to my channel. Over time, this has grown into a small business which I now operate, providing Welsh Translations and Merchandise
Through InstaSim, I also started InstaSpeedathon, an annual speedrun marathon which showcases various speedruns and fundraises for charity. I started this in 2018 and, since 2019, have raised over £2,000 to charity
