About the event

Indie Book Fair began as an indie book store in Tallahassee, FL in 2016. Indie Book stores are very crucial for independent authors who do not know how to get their books on major store shelves. The store closed and the Indie Book Fair emerged.

2023 will be the first year for both scheduled Indie Book Fairs in Orlando, FL. While ebooks created a huge buzz to read on devices, they also made some readers forget about paperback books and adding them to their home bookshelves. Each fair will feature over 15 independent authors of all genres that will travel to Orlando to showcase their work and gain new readers.

Indie Book Fair will ultimately become a two-day event with an awards ceremony and a published bestsellers list.

IBF strives to provide access to engaging and educational books for children, adults, and communities, with a special emphasis on reaching those who love reading.

Erica Thomas

I began my career in changing lives back in 2005 after I graduated Florida A&M University with two bachelor degrees. In 2014, I graduated Liberty University with a Master in Human Services, and obtained my coaching certification in 2019. ​

Initially, I obtained my coaching certification to heal the world one person at a time, but I soon found that folks did not identify with 'trauma' or 'healing'.  I became an independent published author with two companies in 2015 then ended those contracts and began my own publishing company. I also opened Book Teas, an independent author bookstore. When the store closed, I jumped back into my career for a few years then reemerged as an author in 2023. I've secured a new contract with RWP Publishing then created the Indie Author Book Fair.
