About the event

Hero Con is a comic convention based on the principles of celebrating the creative outlets behind the medium. By bringing in comic book and Special FX artists as featured guests, Hero Con focuses on promoting the spirit of turning the imaginary worlds we love into a reality we can live in. Hero Con brings together comic book artists and collectors, makers and cosplayers, fans and fabricators to prove that no matter what you love, there is always a way to show your pride and passion. 

Comic book culture has been on the rise over the past decade. With the creation of Marvel studios and the expansion of the box office success of comic book based movies, we have seen the fan base virtually explode. Because of that comic cons and events of that nature have begun to draw a larger audience each year. Hero Con was created to fill a niche in that market that has begun to disappear. While many cons have begun to focus on the pop culture side, Hero Con still maintains the belief that the artists behind the works creating the characters we love are a draw in and of themselves. 

In addition to that, Hero Con has created a track specifically for cosplayers who may not find a home in many of the conventions they attend. In our first year, Hero Con brought in professional Special FX artist, Eric Zapata, who was featured on multiple seasons of Syfy's Face Off to teach his molding and FX art skills to interested parties. We also brought in Rudy from RCC Creations who was on the most recent season of Skin Wars to teach lessons on body painting. Throughout the entire day, there are panels showcasing skills and talents that cosplayers need to develop their craft and display it to the world.

Whether you are into comics, art, collectibles, or cosplay, Hero Con has something for everyone. And as we continue to grow and develop in our community, we hope to become a place known for fun for fans of any age.
