About the event

Our musical this year is Hairspray - an iconic production that everyone has heard of. With songs you can't forget such as "Mama I'm A Big Girl Now" and "You Can't Stop the Beat," it's one of Broadway's most memorable shows. 

Why should you sponsor?

Between the bright colors and the catchy songs, it's unforgettable - and that's exactly what we're trying to make our production of it be. We just got a new teacher this year and we don't get any funding from our school, so we're starting from scratch to create an amazing show. We have the talent to make it all look good and we want to emphasize their talents through costumes, lighting, good wigs, etc, but that's where we'd need some start-up money.

I am a senior at school and the current president of our drama club. For the past four years, I have put so much of my own money and time into building up this program to make sure it grows and encourages more students to get involved. From dealing with situations where the stage manager and technical director both quit and I had to take up the positions, and when a former teacher didn't defend a girl for sexual assault so I had to; I try my hardest to make sure everyone's efforts don't go to waste as well as make sure that everyone feels safe and wanted in our club. Hairspray would be my last high school show, and I would give anything for it to be the best I could possibly make a show.
