Fleshed Out,

London, United Kingdom London, United Kingdom

  • About the event

A peek into a person’s head as they experience and deal with a multiple of issues through distress, frustration and even humour. Portrayed by two actors playing the same character on different levels. The play was written from personal experiences and we are sharing it with the public, as we believe everyone can relate to at least one issues. Fleshed Out is a play written by Arghierenia Kyrimi in the course of two years. It started as records of the writer’s emotional outbursts and therefore we like to think of it as a real play. It is a play made up by monologues that were not written to be shared with the public, but were only put together when Arghierenia was asked to bring a sample of her work in a drama class. There she presented them as exaggerated versions of personal experiences, instead of 100% true experiences as the truth is and

only admitted the truth when she realized that the issues addressed in her monologues

were not as personal as she thought. They are issues that affect many people and

should therefore be shared with many people. In the end the monologues were

arranged into a play and were given the name Fleshed Out. Some of the issues

addressed in the play are anxiety, rejection, eating disorders, gender identity,

being an immigrant, being misunderstood, insomnia, fear of flying and dealing

with death. The play finishes off by addressing the question “What is real?” in a final

    extra monologue.

The RG Company has chosen Fleshed Out to be the first play they produce as it is

simple, real and we believe that every person out there can relate to at least one

    monologue.

We are organizing our event "Fleshed Out" and are looking for companies like yours to help us make this event more aware to people. As a group we create work of high standard and through our plays we address many different topics and issues. Our latest play connects with someone who has lived through issues such as binge eating disorder, gender identity, sleep paralysis, rejection, fear of flying, being a foreigner in another country, sexuality and anxiety. We want to new create ways to exhibit these oppressed topics in order to show everyone these are real issues. As a group we are continually looking for new ways to express and present different daily topics. We aim to give light and a platform to these various topics that some people deal with on a day to day basis, but also that many other people may not be aware of.
