About the event
Austin isn't only a hotbed for undiscovered musicians and artists, but also houses some of the best athletes in the world. As one of the most active cities in the country, I feel it's importance to understand the hard work and sacrifice that goes into producing premier athletes, and to hear extraordinary stories from extraordinary people. The South Kongress podcast is primarily a lifestlye/ entertainment show, but one of our most listened to episodes chronicled the life and times of a high school star turned day laborer turned gym owner. We want to further platform for Austin's best and brightest, across different fields, to share their experiences with their neighbors and fans. This event would feature us interviewing former college football and MMA competitors in a free flowing environment, complete with music, crown interaction and brand promotion opportunities.
Why should you sponsor?
Our shows cover everything from music and televisions to sports and comics. Episodes revolving around music and sports have been the most listened to, so having a show in a live music environment would attract a young, diverse audience of both women and men. Being associated with local athletes will bring out other notable athletes, as well as their fans. It's a change for any sponsor to heighten their awareness by associating with local tastemakers in both sports and media. Between the South Kongress Podcast we'll be doing live and our sister show, the Pro Wrestling Torch East Coast Cast, we are heard by more than 2,500 unique listeners weekly with almost no financial backing. Sponsorship would allow us to widen our visibility for not only this event, but for our sponsors, as we'd be able to advertise for them to a larger audience through paid promotion via social media.
Cameron HawkinsMy name is Cameron Hawkins, I'm a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. I have a Bachelor's degree in English, and a minor in African/ African American studies. I worked with Texas Student Television in both on air and writing capacities. I currently host my own podcast, the South Kongress podcast, and I'm a weekly contributor to the Pro Wrestling Torch, one of the longerst running wrestling newsletters/ websites in the world.
