About the event

The Cruise In for a Cause Charity Car Show is hosted by the Cranked, Inc. Car Club of Beloit. The show is a volunteer-driven event created to raise money to purchase brand new toys for the critically ill children at the American Family Children's Hospital. The event will be held outside, at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 1st, 2016. The event will be held from 10am-4pm.

The American Family Children’s Hospital is a nonprofit organization, and is a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center. Our mission is to provide toys for the Child Life Program. The Child Life program at American Family Children's Hospital is made up of trained professionals with backgrounds in child development. Certified Child Life Specialists help children, adolescents and families cope with the fear and anxiety associated with the medical environment and hospitalization. The goal of the Child Life program is to promote positive experiences for children and families throughout hospitalization. The Child Life Program creates a friendly, familiar environment for the children; teaching about procedures, surgeries, or new diagnosis. They also focus on distraction during procedures or times of discomfort and promote development. They allow children to master their healthcare experience, and encourage peer interactions, support emotional and psychosocial needs, and provide opportunities for self-expression. They also provide learning to reduce fears, and involve siblings throughout their medical experience.

The toys we collect during the toy drive, along with raising money to purchase new toys greatly assist all of the children with the overwhelming fear, sadness, and burden that can be incurred during their stay at the hospital, and it helps the healing process with the Child Life Program.

Why should you sponsor?

The charity car show raises our funding primarily through our beloved yearly sponsors, but also generates community awareness and volunteer participation by hosting several fundraising events throughout the year. All proceeds will go directly to the American Family Children's Hospital.

Corporate sponsorships ensure the success of any fundraising event. Our sponsors play an important role in defining our event. We work closely with our sponsors to make sure they are included in all aspects of the event and that they receive benefits for their involvement in the show. Most importantly, sponsors are a part of an organization that helps the community in which they serve.

Hello,

My name is Raquel, and I am the event coordinator for the Cranked Inc. Car Club. I have been the coordinator since the club has been established, for 9 years. Our Car Club has hosted a toy drive for Lurie Children's Memorial Hospital, Madison Children's Hospital, and donating clothing for families in need. We also help the St. Peter's Head Start non-profit program, located in Janesville, WI. We donate brand new toys to these children for Christmas. Many of these children are homeless, and live in a financial struggle with their families.

Our club is also involved in the Beloit Autorama Car Show in Beloit, WI. We volunteer our time , and efforts in helping to present the show. All proceeds collected are for the Lions Club International Foundation. The Wisconsin Lions Club Foundation supports The Wisconsin Lions Camp for use by the visually handicapped, Merrill Community Center, Beloit Boys & Girls Club, Meals on Wheels, Caritas, Easter Seals Camp, Hospice and other community projects.
