About the event
The Chemical Engineering Students Summit Philippines (ChESSPH) is one of UP ALCHEMES’ nationwide events. Since the event was founded in 2008, ChESSPH has provided a place for undergraduate chemical engineering students to network and support one another's academic ventures while also raising awareness of recent scientific innovations and providing assistance to the Filipino people. Since its humble beginnings as a one-day event, ChESSPH has since expanded to include a number of seminars, workshops, and plant tours.

Rochelle Nicole RamosThe University of the Philippines Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students, Inc. (UP ALCHEMES, Inc.) is a premier academic non-profit student organization from the University of the Philippines Diliman duly-recognized by the college and the university. It is composed of undergraduate students from the university’s chemical engineering program who strive to promote academic excellence and holistic growth among its members, as well as be of service to society.
Throughout the years, the organization produced 317 Latin honor graduates, organized a variety of nationwide events, and garnered numerous recognitions including the two-time Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers - Junior Chapter Luzon (PiChE - JCL) Best Chapter Organization, the Parangal sa Samahang Mag-aaral recognition by UP Diliman Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA) in 2021, the Ignacio B. Gimenez Awards for Outstanding Student Organization Award in 2016, and the UP Student Organizations’ Social Innovations Project for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction in 2021.
Now in its 24th year, the organization continues to be guided by its core values of service, humility, academics, professionalism, and excellence in all of its projects and initiatives further emphasizing its collective dedication to making a difference and breaking free towards a brighter future.
