The 2018 Arizona AAU Taekwondo State Qualifier Championship is a National Qualifier event for the AAAU National Games. Participants who place first through eighth (1-8) in this event will qualify to represent their home State at the AAU National Championship Games and the prestigious USA/AAU Junior Olympic Games.
Our tournament will be on February 24, 2018 at The Arizona State University PE West Building, 400 E. Apache Blvd. Tempe, AZ 85287. Early-Registration must be received by February 16, 2018. You must also be a registered AAU member or officiate to be able to participate in the National Championship or the Junior Olympic. Everyone is invited to participate in the 2018 Arizona AAU State Qualifier Championship.
Athletes that Participate in the National Games are invited to the USA Team Trials which would give them a chance to become an United States Team Member.

Coach Miguel Paredes has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York. After he graduated from college in 2001, Coach Miguel Paredes started his law enforcement career. He has been in law enforcement since then serving our community by providing public safety.
Coach Miguel Paredes began his martial arts career at the age of 16 after moving to the United States from the Dominican Republic.
He obtained his first and second degree black belt in Sipal-Ki-Do under Master Jose Luis Cademartori (4th Dan in Sipal-Ki-Do, black belt in Sport Jiu-Jitsu and Brizilian Vale Tudo).
Coach Miguel Paredes received his 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo (WTF) from Grand Master William C. Ergle and Master David Lehmkuhl in 2011.
