About the event

Ananda Mela : Joyful Festival of India is an annual summer event that we organize in City of Redmond. The goal of this event is to showcase the rich and diverse culture of India in a manner palatable to the multi-cultural audiences of Pacific Northwest. This year marks the ninth anniversary of the festival that draws around 15000 people over the event weekend. The event will feature visual art dioramas, performance arts, demonstrations of ancient traditions, Vedic life style, delicious cuisine, Indian bazaar and much more, something to appeal to everyone who comes.

Delhi2Dublin and Mayapuris will perform at primetime(6PM onwards) this year. The winners of Aloha Bhangra dance contest will win a trip to Hawaii. An open dance floor featuring Garba and Dandia moves as well as Batukamma will exhilarate the free spirited.

Day time will feature plenty of performance opportunities for local professionals and aspiring artists. The center of the festival will be our Vedic Village. Through practical demonstrations, participatory activities and insightful displays, we will take the visitors through an experience of the ancient vedic life style and emphasize the ancient wisdom that is still relevant to the current day. 

Apart from this being a cultural exhibition, this event is hosted by VCC purely through volunteer effort. The event is envisioned as a demonstration of cultural harmony and cooperation. By bringing people of different cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds to experience this joyful festival is an attempt to project an unifying message for our society.
