About our event

Join forces with Ridiculous Biz to host an epic experience on Ladybird Lake during SXSW. Last year the Ridiculous Boat Party attracted RSVPs from more than 3000 people in the music and tech sectors including labels, streaming platforms, social media platforms, managers, publishers and marketing services. Previous sponsors include Department of Business and Trade, AIM, Amplead, Blackstar Amps, LICKS magazine, and Lazarus Brewery.

My name is Kali and I am one of the Co-founders of Ridiculous Biz, a consultancy company which focuses on bridging the gap between the UK, US and LatAm music and tech industries through out of the box events and innovative partnerships.  I hold an undergraduate degree in Music Industry from College of Saint Rose, New York, a Masters in Music Industry Management and, more recently, gained an LLM Masters degree in Entertainment Law and an MBA in International Business.
 
I moved to New Orleans to start my career and was quickly hired as the youngest Music and Talent Coordinator for the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra before moving to the UK.  I have held roles at global independent record label, Distiller Records and music-tech company SyncVault, and worked on projects with AWAL, The Orchard, Believe (Mexico) and FUGA, among others.  During my time in the UK she secured partnerships and curated stages at over 30 UK Festivals/conferences, including The Great Escape, Bestival, Liverpool Sound City, Y Not, etc, and internationally at, SXSW, Corona Capital, New Colossus, Reeperbahn and the Brazilian Rio Music Market.
 
I am passionate about pushing the international boundaries for both the music and tech sectors to facilitate a truly global creative community.
