About the event
As you may or may not yet know, Massachusetts has a new tradition. As the leaves change color and the air begins to cool, every fall we are hosting the only New England Same-Sex Ballroom Dance Competition. This year the third annual dance competition, we will be in the oldest, most bohemian and eccentric village in the New World, Provincetown, MA. Provincetown is like no other place on Earth. Ptown has been recognized as an international destination for gay men and women and welcome everybody!
2015 United States Championship Friday September 18th 6-9pm (door opens at 5:30pm);
Provincetown Dance Trophy Saturday September 19th 6-9pm (doors open at 5:30pm)
Тhe 2015 Same Sex Ballroom Dancing Championship and Ptown Dance Trophy is not only a dance competition, but also a public declaration of the need for equality at all levels of our lives. It supports the diversity and acceptance of the youth and adult LGBTQ community. The 2015 US Same Sex Ballroom Dance Championship is a two-day formal show and evening event outlining the grace and skills of the ballroom dance contestants accompanied with intervals of social ballroom dancing, games with audience participation and professional dance performances.
Opening Ceremony will be presented by State Representative Sarah Peake.
The dance competition is a yearly event that embraces equality and acceptance among the mainstream and LGBTQ communities through one form of artistic performance - artistic and competitive same-sex ballroom dancing.
