About the event

The Danbury War Memorial is a non-profit recreational and educational facility that has served the Greater Danbury area since 1951. We honor the memory of heroes past and present - Military, Police, Fire, EMT and First Responders – that have sacrificed and defended our liberties and rights. The Danbury War Memorial demonstrates, promotes, and delivers on its motto - “To Honor the Dead, To Serve the Living” by offering a diversified program of indoor activities, a complete fitness center, and a base for community events such as:  

• A shelter during natural and weather emergencies 

• Voting location for both primary and general elections 

• Numerous veterans’ events, such as Memorial Day Parade, Veterans’ Walkway of Honor, Veterans’ Day, and Pearl Harbor Day Ceremonies 

• Basketball, soccer, volleyball, dog obedience, ethnic dance groups etc. 

• Meeting location and venue for numerous local organizations 

We are excited to announce that on May 29th, the Danbury War Memorial will be holding our 15th Annual Golf Tournament. Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will support on-going operations as well as future projects, such as:  

• Fitness center and gymnasium sound systems 

• Gymnasium Air Conditioning 

• Enhancements and expansion of the Fitness Center
