About the event

With enthusiasm, the "pearl of Lake Maggiore," Stresa, is gearing up to host the annual congress of the Italian Society of Clinical Movement Analysis (SIAMOC), now in its twenty-fourth edition. The itinerant congress has been held in major Italian cities, including last year's edition in the capital.

This event serves as a gathering for members of the SIAMOC society, whose aim is to advance scientific research on human movement, fostering interaction between the clinical and academic worlds and promoting synergy among various professional figures. Each edition provides researchers with the opportunity to share their recent work and learn from others' contributions, aided by esteemed guest speakers who deliver keynote lectures. Indeed, internationally renowned professors are invited to share their insights at the highest level.

Stresa and its surrounding area will provide the backdrop for this scientifically valuable event. Although smaller and less renowned than major cities, Stresa is characterized by its charm and beauty, nestled among the mountains and overlooking the lake and its islands, offering a truly unique experience to be discovered like the gem it is

SIAMOC encompasses two aspects: one is engineering-oriented, involving researchers interested in the methodological aspects of movement analysis, and the other is more clinical, where physicians, physiotherapists, and exercise/motor specialists apply these methodologies in various clinical contexts. The society enjoys international recognition and proudly stands as one of the official societies of the prestigious scientific journal Gait & Posture.

With the goal of maintaining a role of excellence in the field of movement analysis, we believe it's essential to extend our requests for support to companies not strictly related to the healthcare sector but characterized by an innovative approach. In this context, I would like to draw your attention to a series of scientific works presented at the SIAMOC 2023 congress, which illustrate the scientific level of the contributions and, at the same time, the inherent challenges in interpreting such results in a context immediately usable for companies.

I am Marco Godi, coordinator of physiotherapists at the Scientific Institute of Veruno. I am writing on behalf of SIAMOC (Italian Society of Clinical Movement Analysis, https://www.siamoc.it/), the Italian scientific society dedicated to movement analysis, with Prof. Andrea Cereatti (Polytechnic University of Turin, https://www.polito.it/personale?p=041052) as its president. As every year, the Society gathers for a congress to share the latest evidence from research in the field of movement analysis. This year, the congress will be held in Stresa, Italy, from October 2nd to 5th, 2024, at Hotel La Palma for the 24th edition of the SIAMOC Congress. Despite the congress being primarily of national importance, the scientific level is quite high. Over the years, numerous prestigious guests, including international ones, have participated in the SIAMOC congress. Each of them has brought their expertise in a specific field, enriching the audience with significant lectio magistralis
