About the event
WesMex International Small Boat Regatta: This event focuses on dinghy racing and will be a qualifier for the Laser Youth Worlds, the Optimist North American Championship and the Optimist South American Championship. This Regatta has grown from 42 youth participants in 2006 to nearly 250 in 2016. WesMex was the spring board for bringing in the many international championships hosted by Vallarta Yacht Club and has world wide recognition as the best sailing event in Mexico.
Why should you sponsor?
Many competitors will be accompanied by their spouse and family and look forward to sharing this resort venue with them. Overall attendance during these regatta months, including family, officials and media can exceed 2,500.
Each event includes practice days, race days, nightly dinners and an awards dinner with trophies presented to the top performers
Linda GreenThe vision of the Vallarta Yacht Club is to create a non-profit private membership organization that enjoys a prestigious reputation as a globally recognized world-class yacht club known for its service to members and contributions to yachting and the Banderas Bay region. The Club has three objectives to attain that enviable status:
- First is to provide an attractive, comfortable, and active private social environment for members.
- Second is to promote, sponsor, manage, and provide facilities for local and international yachting events.
- And third, is to sponsor charitable events and activities that benefit the Banderas Bay region and its residents.
