  • About the event

    To fulfill its aim, the UPES SPE Student Chapter conducts a plethora of events throughout the year. Among these events, the prestigious UPES SPE Fest & Conference is an annual international convention that has, in the past, won critical acclaim and experienced participation from distinguished colleges of India, like ISM Dhanbad, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, RGIPT Rai Bareilly, PDPU Gandhinagar, Nowrosjee Wadia Pune, amongst others. Students from other countries like Kazakhstan, Russia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nigeria & Saudi Arabia have been active faces in various versions of the Fest, with the 2017 edition also experiencing an onset of 10 speakers from various Oil & Gas companies of the domain and 411 participants. Some of the sponsors of the Fest have been ONGC, Oil India Limited, Petronet LNG, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, Shell India, Cairn India, Rasson Energy, Windlass, Sara Sae, GSPC, Young Petro, AIESEC, Cafe Coffee Day, Dabur etc.

    The 9th edition of the Fest, the UPES SPE Fest & Conference 2018, set to be held on the dates 8th - 10th February at Dehradun India, promises to be bigger than ever before, with a number of flagship events, participation from reputed institutes in our country and beyond as well as presence of competent industry delegates and academia experts. The theme of the Fest is "Inspiring Innovations" and that of the Conference, to be held on 9th February, is "Technological Revolutions: Changing the Industry Dynamics", keeping in mind the recent innovations that the industry has undertaken to make the most out of the oil price volatility scenario.

    The UPES SPE FEST is the biggest technical event in our college which is based on the Oil and Gas industry. We have a membership base of more than 1200 students. We also witness a huge participation from both national and international students. We organise a plethora of events as well as conferences from dignitaries in the petroleum sector. By associating with us, we let you access a huge audience and also your logo will be displayed at all our events, flyers and social networking. You can also put up your own stalls.


    UPES SPE FEST 2018

    UPES SPE Student Chapter was established in 2009 with a vision of enabling students to become early contributors to the oil and gas E&P industry by actively participating in the exchange of technical knowledge regarding the same, and to enhance their technical and professional competence at the same time. 

    Today, the Chapter is a benchmark for excellence in all undertakings, be it planning & operations, social responsibility, industrial involvement or professionalism. The Chapter has achieved the rare distinction of being awarded the ’Gold Standard Award’ by SPE International for three consecutive years (2011, 2012 and 2013) followed by the most prestigious honour of receiving the ‘Outstanding Student Chapter Award’ for the following four consecutive years (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017).

    Moreover, the Chapter members have proven their merit in all fields by receiving numerous scholarships and having their research papers published in prominent technical magazines all over the world.
    They have also attended various international conferences and competitions on behalf of the University as well as the Chapter, such as the SPE/IADC Middle East Drilling Technology Conference and Exhibition, International Petroleum Technology Conference, Indian Oil Gas Renewable Energy Summit, Indian Drilling and Exploration Conference (IDEC), the Global
    Refining and Petrochemical Congress, the Young Professionals’ Conference and several other distinguished lecture programs. 

    The Chapter continues to grow by leaps and bounds and achieve new standards of brilliance every day, moving towards better and greater goals, firmly inculcating in all its associates, the spirit of “miles to go before I sleep”.
