About the event

The annual Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble is a holiday tradition for Charleston natives and travelers alike. The largest 5K in Charleston kicks off at 9 a.m. at Marion Square in Downtown Charleston. The course takes participants through historic downtown Charleston and Battery before returning to Marion Square for a post-race party that includes free food and beverages (beer provided for those 21+ years) as well as live music and awards ceremony. A Children’s Fun Run and activities ensure that this is a fun event for any age.

Presented by the Knights of Columbus, Rev. P.N. Lynch, Council 704, the purpose of the race is to raise funds for local charities. Past recipients of charitable donations include Alzheimer’s Association, Boy Scouts of America (Lowcountry chapter) and Crisis Ministries. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal service organization.

The Turkey Day Run had a record year in 2016, registering 7,558 runners and walkers and with 6,798 crossing the finish line. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and first-place finishers in the Master and Grand Master categories.

Sponsors of the Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble will receive sponsorship credit on various printed materials and advertising materials depending on the level of sponsorship. Advertising materials include the race registration form, flyers and the race day brochure.

The Turkeyday Run and Gobble Wobble receives extensive pre-race and post-race media coverage on local newscasts and local newspapers including the Post & Courier, Additionally, it airs more than 100 spots on regional and local Clear Channel radio stations - plus added to our Facebook page and Twitter.

ONLINE PRESENCE:

With a new and improved website, your company logo will be displayed for a year on our website, making it visible for those who visit the site to view race results as well as those who register or need race day information.

SALES PROMOTION:

The Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble is the largest 5K race in Charleston and the 11th largest single event on Thanksgiving nationwide attracting over 10,000 participants and thousands of spectators on race day. The race provides sponsors the opportunity to reach a mass of potential customers the week before, the week of and on raceday and through the winter holiday season while viewing photos and race results.

The Turkey Day Run's mission is to raise money for local charities. This year we have a goal to raise $10,000 more and we need your help!

Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the run are donated to non-profit organizations in the Charleston area. Last year, the Turkey Day Run gave money to more than 30 charities including:
